Binder Card Case

Privacy policy

No account. We never ask for your name or email. Your collection stays on your phone, and scanning happens on the device — no photo is ever uploaded.

Who we are

Binder Card Case (“Binder”, “the app”) and this website are made by Verto Studios, established in Denmark, in the European Union. We are the data controller for everything described here. Contact vertosupport@agentmail.to with “[Binder]” and “Privacy” in the subject line. Because we are established in the EU, the GDPR applies to how we handle your data wherever you live.

The app: what it holds, and where

There is no account, no login and no email address in the app. Nothing you do in Binder is tied to your name.

On your phone only: which cards you hold, your progress through each set, the page and pocket positions, the daily snapshots behind The Record, and your settings. These live in a database on the device. They are not sent to us or to anyone else, and we cannot see them.

Scanning: the camera frame is analysed on your phone using Apple's on-device Vision framework, which reads the printed card number and set total. No photo, frame or crop is uploaded, and none is stored after the scan.

Card data and card images

Card names, set lists and prices come from TCGdex, and the card pictures are served from TCGdex's image CDN. When the app shows you a card, your device requests that picture directly from TCGdex, exactly as a web browser would.

Two consequences worth stating plainly. That request carries your IP address to TCGdex. And because the app draws the art of the cards you own, the pattern of those requests reveals which cards and sets you are looking at. We do not send TCGdex anything about you, and we cannot see these requests — they go from your phone to them. Pictures are cached on the device, so a given card is normally fetched once rather than on every view. TCGdex's own terms and privacy practices apply to that connection.

If you would rather not make those requests at all, the pocket grid works without pictures: cards without art fall back to a numbered pocket, which is the same view you get for any card whose picture is missing.

The hunt list

Apart from the anonymous usage statistics described below, this is the one thing that leaves your phone, and only if you use it. When you add a card to the wanted list, that entry — the card id, its name and set, and the price ceiling you set — is stored in our database, hosted by Supabase in the European Union (Paris), so that our watcher knows what to look for.

It is stored against a random identifier created on your device the first time the app runs. It is not linked to your name, email or Apple ID, and we have no way to connect it to you. Each installation can read and write only its own rows; this is enforced by the database itself, not merely by the app. Listings we find are written back for that identifier alone.

Removing a card from the wanted list deletes its row. Deleting the app leaves the rows orphaned with no way to reach them; email us if you want them erased outright.

Tradera

We query Tradera's public search API from our own server, not from your phone, so Tradera never sees your device or your IP address as part of the watching. When you tap a listing, it opens on Tradera's own site and their privacy policy applies from that point, exactly as if you had opened it yourself.

Purchases

Binder Pro is sold through Apple. Apple handles payment under its own terms and privacy policy. To know whether your subscription is active, the app uses RevenueCat in anonymous mode: RevenueCat assigns a random identifier to the installation and stores the purchase receipt and subscription status against it. It never receives your name, email or Apple ID. RevenueCat is a US company; the transfer rests on the EU standard contractual clauses in their data-processing agreement.

Usage statistics

From version 1.0.1 the app sends anonymous usage events — for example “opened the app”, “scanned a card”, “viewed the paywall” — with a random identifier to PostHog, hosted in the European Union (Frankfurt). The events carry counts and simple labels only: never a card name, never anything you type, never a photo. We do not store your IP address or derive a location from it, we do not record your screen, and we never link these events to a person, an account or your Apple ID. They are kept for one year. We use them to see which parts of the app work and which do not.

What we do not do

There are no ads and no advertising networks. There are no screen recordings and no tracking across other companies' apps or websites. There is no Meta or Facebook software. We do not sell or share your data, because we do not hold data about you to sell.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes everything it keeps on your phone. To erase the anonymous hunt-list record on our side, email vertosupport@agentmail.to and say so; we delete it within 30 days. Your Apple purchase history stays with Apple under Apple's terms — that is what “Restore purchases” reads if you reinstall.

Under the GDPR you may ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may complain to your local supervisory authority. In Denmark that is Datatilsynet.

Children

Binder is rated 4+ and is not directed at children. There is no account, no messaging, no user-generated content and no advertising, so there is nothing collected from a child to begin with.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and material changes will be noted in the app's release notes. Questions go to vertosupport@agentmail.to.
